The Sir Martin Gilbert Learning Centre
Our Vision is that people of all ages should enjoy and appreciate the study of history and culture, and gain a better understanding of how the lessons of the past can help shape a more tolerant present and future.
Our Mission is to uphold Sir Martin Gilbert’s legacy for future generations, using his scholarship, integrity and principles as a guide for those who wish to learn from history and heed its lessons to build a better society.
We Aim to realise these aspirations by establishing a library and resource centre. We will run a varied programme that will include essay competitions for schools, lectures, exhibitions and interactive learning courses.
We Will reach out to young people of all backgrounds and adults who wish to engage in stimulating activities inspired by Sir Martin’s works to further their understanding and appreciation of the history of the 20th Century, in particular his extraordinary work on Churchill and the Holocaust.
